ABOUT SANCTUARY CLAREMONT
Founded by a former University Dean and Professor, Sanctuary grew out of years of mentoring and discussions with students who dreamt of a viable way for people to meet, be mentored and impact social needs and injustices right within their own communities. With the commitment of some former students, Dr. Steve Gerali launched Sanctuary Claremont, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The coffee house will turn all of its profits into Claremont and the surrounding communities. The name Sanctuary was chosen because it denotes a safe place and a sacred space. We hope you experience both.
SANCTUARY AS A SACRED SPACE
We believe lives are changed and enriched in the context of intentionally loving relationships. Our management staff and many of our baristas are theologically trained or seminary degreed mentors and pastors. You may see people occasionally in discussion/mentor groups about the person and work of Jesus Christ, theology, philosophy, ethics or living into the fullness of their spirituality. Jump in if you want – we’d love to get your perspective.
Sanctuary is presently utilizing space at St Ambrose Episcopal Church, 830 W Bonita Ave, Claremont, CA. 91711 for worship and teaching at 4:30 pm each Sunday. You are welcome to joins us! For more info contact us.
OUR NON-PROFIT PARTNERS
In our effort to "impact lives with every cup," we donate all of our profits to charity. Our Board of Directors determines our partnerships each year, and we currently support Inland Valley Hope Partners and Ability First.
Inland Valley Hope Partners exists to heal our communities of homelessness and hunger through their various programs like food security, housing, and healthy living initiatives. You can find ways to serve or get involved here.
Ability First exists to serve individuals in Claremont by looking beyond disabilities, focusing on abilities, and expanding possibilities. You can find ways to get involved here.
